This trail is located 29,5 kilometers north of Chaitén and 28,5 kilometers south of Caleta Gonzalo. The trailhead is in a small camping area with a fire pit and a roofed picnic table. Water is available 20 meters from the camping area, which has beautiful panoramic views of the volcano. The trail is 12 kilometers long (12 to 14 hours roundtrip, take a picnic and warm clothing) and takes you to the base of the Michinmahuida Volcano, through forest, rivers and great vistas of the west face of the Volcano. The more you walk along the trail the less vegetation you will see until the forest leaves and takes place the great mountain terrain.
